Who we are

Since its foundation in 1945 the Foreign Press Association in Vienna has been the face of the international media in Austria and South East Europe. We have represented 1800 full-time and 400 part-time Foreign Correspondents. Currently our members come from 4 continents and from 34 countries and work for practically all well-known newspapers, agencies, radio and television stations.

What we stand for
We embody a free, diverse and cosmopolitan press that provides independent and verifiable information. We offer our members a network that provides them with access to decision-makers and supports them in their everyday problems. We are also the only international association to issue an official press credential.
What we do

The Foreign Press Association in Vienna organizes a large number of events every year. For example, since 1945, all Austrian heads of government have granted us exclusive background interviews. In addition, there are guided tours, press trips and meetings among members in an informal setting. We are also co-organizers of the Media Summit in Lech, Austria.
